Contour Drawings
A gift of attending Shambhala's Dharma Art classes was the offering of experimenting with drawing. It was an offering that asked me to lean into something that I perceived as a limitation (not being able to draw portraits freehand) and try again. The result of working with blind contour drawings was the reintroduction of playfulness and a freedom from fear of the result. The contour drawings in this series were done as one single line and with a pen in each hand. The results are unaided and unselfconscious portraits of myself and my friends that actually just make me smile.
